Photos with poems
I went to the Grolier poetry book shop in Harvard Square to do research for a new project. In specific I was searching for poems that were written to compliment photos. I’ve been interested in the idea of what non-traditional, more verbose captioning can do to an image.
After some searching with staff, we found Street - Poems by Jim Daniels, Photographs by Charlee Brodsky. The images by...

35 years of the Brown Sisters
I visited the MFA this past friday thanks to the free-ness provided by the Highland Street Foundation. I spent most of my time there with the Nicholas Nixon Brown Sisters exhibit, now onto 35 years of portraits with the 4 sisters. That missing space in the grid is waiting for the 36th photo to be taken and placed in the gallery this summer. Although I kind of like it the way it is: the presence...

MIT Media Lab
I stopped by the MIT Media lab today for a tour from a friend. The space feels like an advanced playroom - freshly opened boxes of gadgets, wires connecting half built objects and a vibrant array of oversized toys within big open spaces.
Here are a few of the groups/projects that caught my interest on first glance:

I know exactly what I did 28 days ago
In an effort to be more mindful and have a record of how I’m spending my days, I’ve been keeping a new journal. The template for it is simple and requires me to write a few categorized lists of what I have to show for my day. The current breakdown looks like this:
-what was the most important thing about today feeling: morning, afternoon, evening reading: music:
Ideas: Business: Personal:...

New theme: Designless
The designless theme is ideal for those who make posts on a weekly basis and want to create multiple pages or highlight offsite links. The title and top bar colors are customizable as well as the background, text, link, and link mouseover colors.
I made this design to use on my own blog but also submitted it to the tumblr theme garden for others to use. http://www.tumblr.com/theme/9154

Tumblr Theme - Flyover
I took my first stab at creating a tumblr theme. The purpose of this was to just get me up to speed with the platform because I have a couple ideas of themes I want to spend some solid time on and create. Although I won’t be using the “Flyover Theme” myself, I think it can be useful for someone looking to give each of there individual posts more weight.
Here is the link to the...

There it is. I stitched it together from 40 11x17 (tabloid) slices. Each slice is a highly detailed rendering from google maps at the third closest zoom level. Example below.

The Endowment Effect
“Losses are more bad than gains are good”
When something is given to you, it becomes part of your “endowment”. Taking a risk and losing it would be more detrimental than a potential gain.
Examples:
When purchasing a car, in one condition you are offered a model fully loaded with all the features. You are then allowed to strip the features from the car to receive your...

New blog
I decided to get out of http://www.pixelpost.org/ since I want to do more than pictures now. If your interested in doing a photo only blog I highly recommend it as a platform. I designed this theme for it.
I plan on making my own theme for tumblr once I have the time.
